26/Jan/2015 Adelaide City Council proudly presents...
Australia Day in the City 26 January 2015

Australia Day in the City is the major public event to celebrate Australia Day in South Australia in Elder Park on Monday 26 January! Since becoming a twilight event in 2010, the crowds at this free family event have continued to grow with 40,000+ attendees enjoying the street parade, concert and fireworks each year! Headline acts in previous years have included Timomatic, Ricki-Lee, Stan Walker, Jessica Mauboy and Vanessa Amorosi.

Acts for the 2015 event will be Sneaky Sound System and Brothers3!!

For the past 4 years our Association was actively participating in this parade. And for the second time we had the opportunity to build a float which is fully financed by the Australia Day Parade Council.

The highlight of our entry is the ‘Piano on Wheels’. The piano is hand painted and has Armenian motives, such as the pomegranates and pomegranate tree, which is one of the symbols of Armenia. A tricycle will be pulling the main part of the float.

02/Nov/2013 Multicultural Week-End

Dear Friends,

This coming week-end will be of great importance for our Association.

Starting this Saturday 2nd November 2013, from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm, a Multicultural Fair will take place on the grounds of St.Augustine's Church on Unley Rd ( opposite the Unley Shopping Centre). Our Association will have a Stall manned by our President Elena and other volunteer ladies. We will be selling delicious Armenian cakes and sweets and thus promote our tradition of cake-making.

Next day, Sunday 3rd November 2013, from 10.30 am to 5.00 pm, a Multicultural Festival 2013 will take place in Rundle Mall, Adelaide. This will be a free event to showcase South Australia's cultural diversity with music and dynamic dances across 3 stages in the Mall.

Our Association will have a Stall, again, manned by Elena and other volunteer ladies in traditional Armenian costumes and selling traditional cakes and Armenian knick-knacks. Participating in these two events, although time consuming and demanding a great effort to bake all these cakes, is of utmost importance for our Association ! Our financial situation is very poor and these two events will give us the opportunity to replenish our Association's bank account.

You can also donate knick-knacks or Armenian souvenirs,in good condition, that we will be able to sell and improve our finances.

For further information please contact Elena on 0432550000 or Alec on 83591886.

So please, make an effort and visit our Stalls at these two events and cheer our volunteers for our worthwhile cause.

You can find more information on Mulicultural Festival SA here and an article about the festival in City Messenger here.

Best wishes
